Karen Karapetyan: “EITI standard is in tune with the Government’s open and transparent policy”

On March 24 Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan attended an event dedicated to Armenia’s becoming a candidate member of Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). The event was hosted by the Government of Armenia and supported by the US Agency for International Development-implemented “Improved mining sector transparency” program.

The Steering Committee of the Open Government Partnership today resolved that Azerbaijan will be regretfully designated as inactive in OGP, due to unresolved constraints on the operating environment for Non-Governmental Organizations.

Armenia uses “Crowdsourcing” to design a government action plan.

The Armenian Government, with the support of the UN Development Program in Armenia, announced an open call for ideas to contribute to the third Action Plan of its Open Government Partnership Initiative. The Action Plan is a set of official commitments, co-designed together with the civil society, which aim to enhance transparency, accountability and public participation in Armenia.
